World-Architecture-7

While I have never been, I have heard The World Architecture Festival is the largest architectural festival around. Around 200-300 projects are shortlisted to compete in about 20-30 categories. One of these projects is awarded the “Building of the Year”. I guess you could say it is like the Academy Award’s for architecture every year. This blog put together a top 10 list of the “World’s Best Buildings” for 2013. I can’t say I disagree with the list, although it is funny how European works dominate the list. Actually it is not funny but typical, especially because most of those selections are in the Northern European countries which I have always esteemed as the leading designers for contemporary architecture. In my mind architects such as those in the Netherlands have held that mantel for quite some time and remain many years ahead of most other architects in the world.
